Planning a birthday party for your child? These tasty recipes will help you strike a healthy balance when it comes to party treats \u2013 they\u2019re packed with fruit and veg and have no added sugar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bananasicles<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bananas never tasted this good! They\u2019re covered in yoghurt and Squish 100% Fruit Puree<\/strong> and finished off with fun sprinkles for that special party touch. Squish Fruit and Veggie Purees<\/strong> are made from 100% fruit and vegetables and are free from nasties like preservatives, colourants and flavourants. Plus, they have no added cane sugar or starch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 bananas<\/p>\n\n\n\n

125ml plain yoghurt <\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 x 110ml Squish 100% Fruit Puree<\/strong>\u2013 pick your little one\u2019s favourite fruit flavour<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sprinkles (optional)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Method<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slice two bananas in half horizontally. Insert a wooden skewer carefully into the one end of each banana slice and place on a lined baking sheet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mix together 125ml plain yoghurt and your favourite Squish 100% Fruit Puree<\/strong> pouch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spread the yoghurt and fruit mix over the bananas and decorate with sprinkles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freeze for 20-40 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TIP:<\/strong> Make these a few days before, then you\u2019ll have one less thing to worry about on the big day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHOCOLATE BROWNIES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

No one would believe these chocolate brownies don\u2019t have any cane sugar \u2013 instead, they\u2019re packed with real fruit and veg! We used Squish 100% Summer Berry Puree<\/strong>, but you could use any of the Squish 100% Fruit Puree<\/strong> flavours, like Apple, Fruit Salad,<\/strong> or Pear<\/strong> \u2013 or make up the amount needed by using a combination of Squish purees you have in your fridge. All Squish pouches come with a resealable lid, which cuts back on food waste. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00bd cup melted coconut oil<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00be cup wholewheat flour<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00bd teaspoon baking powder<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00bd cup of honey<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 large eggs<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00be cup cocoa powder<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 x 110ml Squish 100% Summer Berry Puree<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 large courgettes, finely grated<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Method<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mix together the eggs, vanilla essence and Squish 100% Summer Berry Puree<\/strong>. Add the melted oil (at room temp) and then mix in the honey. Add the grated courgettes. Give the mixture a good stir before finally adding the flour, cocoa and baking powder. Mix well then spread into a baking pan lined with baking paper. Bake for 12-15 minutes at 180\u00b0C. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

TIP:<\/strong> Here\u2019s a fun idea for a birthday \u201ccake\u201d: create a tower of brownies, dust with edible glitter, then pop a candle on top.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHEESY VEG BALLS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These cheesy and delicious balls are always a hit! Double the batch so there are enough for the grownups at the party too! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 cup cheese <\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 x 110ml Squish 100% Mixed Veg Puree <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00bc small onion finely grated<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 cups breadcrumbs (simply put several slices of bread into your processor and blitz)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00bd cup wholewheat flour<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2-3 large courgettes, finely grated<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 large carrots, finely grated<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00bd clove garlic grated, finely grated<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 tablespoons olive oil\/coconut oil<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 teaspoon dried herbs<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Method<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Combine all the ingredients and leave to rest for 20 minutes. Roll into small balls. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 180\u00b0C for 20-25 minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
