Heading off on a family holiday is fun. Make sure your little one manages the long drive by packing some delicious snacks that will keep their tummy full and a smile on their face! These recipes are packed full of goodness and are easy to enjoy on the go.<\/p>\r\n

\u2022 MINI APPLE AND CARROT MUFFINS<\/b><\/p>\r\n

These muffins are packed with sneaky veg \u2013 thanks to a pouch of Squish 100%<\/b> Butternut + Carrot Puree<\/b> \u2013 and get their sweetness from grated apple. Squish 100% Fruit and Veg Purees<\/b> are made using top quality fruit and vegetables and are 100% natural. That means they\u2019ve got no added nasties and are free of colourants, flavourants and preservatives. There are a variety of flavours to choose from, with some tasty combos like Squish 100% Banana + Strawberry, Squish 100% Apple + Guava, Squish 100% Pear + Potato, <\/b>and Squish 100% Apple, Beetroot + Guava.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\r\n

Ingredients<\/b><\/p>\r\n

1 x 110ml<\/b> Squish 100% Butternut + Carrot<\/b><\/p>\r\n

2 cups self-raising flour<\/p>\r\n

1-2 carrots, grated<\/p>\r\n

\u00bd apple, peeled and chopped<\/p>\r\n

\u00be cup milk or dairy substitute<\/p>\r\n

2 eggs<\/p>\r\n

Method<\/b><\/p>\r\n

Pre-heat oven to 180\u00b0C and line a mini muffin pan with muffin cases. Whisk Squish 100% Butternut + Carrot<\/b>, eggs, and milk together then add flour. Stir to combine. Add grated carrots and chopped apple. Bake for 20 minutes or until an inserted toothpick emerges clean. Transfer to a wire rack and allow to cool. Makes 16 mini muffins.<\/p>\r\n

TIP:<\/b> These muffins freeze well, so you can bake a batch and freeze ahead of your trip.<\/p>\r\n

\u2022 SWEET CHICKEN ON A STICK<\/b><\/p>\r\n

These chicken kebabs are filling and flavourful. We added extra flavour and juiciness by basting the chicken with Squish 100% Pear + Sweet<\/b> Potato<\/b> before cooking, but you could use any leftover fruity Squish<\/b> puree you have in your fridge. Squish<\/b> pouches come with a handy screw-on lid, which means you can use whatever you need then store the rest in the fridge for later.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

Ingredients<\/b><\/p>\r\n

Squish 100% Pear + Sweet Potato<\/b><\/b><\/p>\r\n

1 cup skinless chicken breast or thigh, cubed<\/p>\r\n

Method<\/b><\/p>\r\n

Soak sosatie sticks in water for 5 minutes to prevent them from burning when you cook. Thread chicken onto sticks and baste well with Squish 100% Pear + Sweet Potato<\/b>. Air fry or grill for 6 minutes.<\/p>\r\n

\u2022 CHEESY VEG BALLS<\/b><\/p>\r\n

These tasty little balls of veggie goodness are favourites with the whole family \u2013 so make an extra big batch! For a more hearty meal \u2013 you can pop a couple of cheesy balls into a mini pita.<\/p>\r\n

Ingredients<\/b><\/p>\r\n

1 cup cheese<\/p>\r\n

1 x 110ml Squish 100% Mixed Veg Puree<\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00bc small onion, finely grated<\/p>\r\n

2 cups breadcrumbs (simply put several slices of bread into your processor and blitz)<\/p>\r\n

\u00bd cup wholewheat flour<\/p>\r\n

2-3 large courgettes, finely grated<\/p>\r\n

2 large carrots, finely grated<\/p>\r\n

\u00bd clove garlic, finely grated<\/p>\r\n

2 Tbsp olive oil or coconut oil<\/p>\r\n

1 tsp dried herbs<\/p>\r\n

Method<\/b><\/p>\r\n

Combine all the ingredients then leave to rest for 20 minutes. Roll into small balls. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper then bake in a preheated oven at 180\u00b0C for 20-25 minutes.<\/p>\r\n
