Quick and easy 3-ingredient suppers for your toddler
At the end of a long day, it can sometimes be difficult to find the time and energy to make an elaborate dinner for your toddler. Having Squish 100% Fruit and Veg Puree on hand means you can quickly transform last night’s leftovers into a delicious supper. These oh-so-simple three ingredient supper recipes will help you prepare a nutritious meal with less fuss so that you can relax and enjoy your evening with your family.
CHICKEN AND VEG RICE
The convenience of Squish 100% Fruit and Veg Puree means you never have to compromise on giving your child a nutritious meal, no matter how little time you have. This tasty combo is so simple to make – we used Squish 100% Pear + Sweet Potato Puree, but it works just as well with any of our flavours, including, Butternut + Carrot Puree, Mixed Vegetable or Apple, Sweet Potato + Sweetcorn.
Ingredients
1 cup cooked rice
1 chicken breast, steamed and shredded
1 x 110 ml pouch Squish 100% Pear + Sweet Potato Puree
Method
Heat a small saucepan over medium heat, adding a dollop of butter.
Add rice and chicken and fry briefly. Add Squish Puree and continue stirring until heated through.
BUTTERNUT AND CARROT MASHED POTATOES
Squish to the rescue! What could be quicker and easier than this? Turn last night’s leftover mash into a delicious feast with the help of Squish 100% Fruit and Veg Puree. Because Squish has no colourants, flavourants or preservatives – and no added sugar or starch – you can rest easy knowing your child is getting all-natural deliciousness.
Ingredients
1 cup mashed potato
1 x 110 ml Squish 100% Butternut + Carrot Puree
Steamed tenderstem broccoli for dipping
Method
Heat mash in microwave and stir through Squish Puree.
Steam broccoli and serve alongside mash as dippers.
CHEESY MIXED VEGETABLE EGG SCRAMBLE
This is a great way to use up any half-full Squish 100% Fruit and Veg Purees you might have in the fridge – they will transform simple scramble eggs into a hearty meal, full of natural goodness. All of our pouches have resealable lids, so you never need to waste a drop!
Ingredients
2 eggs
50 ml (½ pouch) Squish 100% Mixed Vegetable Puree (or any flavour you please)
45 ml (3 Tbsp) cheddar cheese, grated
Method
Crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk. Add Squish Puree and mix well. Melt a blob of butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the egg and puree mix and cook, stirring, until just cooked. Stir in the cheese. Serve warm with buttered toast.
