Refreshing snacks for hot days
When the temperatures rise and the sun is out, it is inevitable that your little one will spend more time outdoors running around and enjoying the sunshine. These snacks will help keep them hydrated, cool and refreshed.
• BERRY SMOOTHIE
This smoothie is packed full of natural berry goodness and is great for breakfast on a hot day or for a mid-afternoon snack. It’s so quick and easy to make, and you can switch up the flavour by using different Squish 100% Fruit Purees – try Fruit Salad, Banana + Strawberry, or Pear. Ingredients
1 x 110 ml Squish 100% Summer Berries Puree
1 cup plain yoghurt
Method
Blend together well and serve.

• FRUITY ICE LOLLIES
Ice lollies are refreshing on a hot summer afternoon – and are a fun treat to serve during afternoon play dates. Unfortunately, many store-bought ice lollies are packed full of added sugar and preservatives. That’s why you’ll love these super simple lollies. They’re made by freezing boxes of Squish 100% Juice, which means you can rest easy knowing they contain only fresh fruit and veg – not concentrate – and contain no preservatives.
Ingredients
Squish 100% Fruit Juice. Choose a mixture of these great flavours: Apple, Apple + Grape Juice with Rooibos Extract, Pear + Prune, and Summer Berries.
Method
Remove the straw from the Squish 100% Fruit Juice box then use a sharp knife to make a tiny slit in the top of the box.
Insert a wooden skewer. Freeze overnight. Use a serrated knife to cut the box in half.
Push the box down a little on the stick to enjoy a great refreshing iced treat.

BANANASICLES
These treats combine bananas, yoghurt and Squish 100% Fruit Puree to create an unusual and refreshing snack. You could serve these for dessert when your little one has friends over or as a fruity party lolly.
Ingredients
2 Bananas
125 ml plain yoghurt
1 x 110ml Squish 100% Fruit Puree – pick your child’s favourite fruit flavour
Method
Slice two bananas in half horizontally. Insert a wooden skewer carefully into the one end of each banana slice and place on a lined baking sheet.
Mix 125 ml plain yoghurt with your favourite Squish 100% Fruit Puree.
Spread the yoghurt and fruit mix over the bananas.
Freeze for 20-40 minutes.
TIP: If you’re serving these as a party snack, decorate with sprinkles before freezing.
2 tsp baking powder
1 pinch salt
Method
Combine ingredients in a mixing bowl and allow to stand for half an hour. Pour batter into waffle machine and cook until golden.
TIP: You can freeze this waffle batter for up to one month.
