Apple, Cinnamon and Rice Pudding

Nutritious and warm dessert your baby will love.

Makes 4 Servings

750 ml (3 cups) milk
pinch of salt
30 ml (2 tbsp) coconut sugar or brown sugar (optional)
2.5 ml (½ tsp) vanilla essence
100 g (½ cup) white rice
2.5 ml (½ tsp) ground cinnamon
1 x 110ml Squish Apple + Banana 100% Fruit Puree
Place the milk, salt, sugar (if using) and vanilla essence into a medium saucepan and bring to the boil.
Reduce the heat to a low simmer and add the rice.
Add the ground cinnamon.
Cook stirring occasionally for 40 minutes or until the rice is tender and the pudding thick and creamy.
Remove from the heat and stir in the the Squish Apple + Banana 100% Fruit Puree
Cool to warm and serve.
COOKING TIP:

Experts agree that sugar should not be added to baby’s food before 1 year. Coconut sugar is a good alternative to refined white sugar for babies. Sprinkle the cooked pudding with a little extra cinnamon sugar made from coconut sugar and ground cinnamon. Use almond milk for a nutty non- dairy version. Add raisins or chopped banana before serving.
