With summer on the way, moms are often on the lookout for something fresh and healthy their toddlers and older kids can enjoy. Whether you are on the run, going for picnics or enjoying them at home as a meal or snack, smoothies are ideal as part of your everyday meal plan.

1. The Delicious Monster – What do you think about when you think of a delicious monster? Green right? Well, that’s exactly what this smoothie is all about, the greens! With hidden gems like frozen peas and baby spinach, there’s nothing your little one won’t enjoy when mixed up with the right ingredients.

Ingredients (feeds 2 kids)Method
2 small frozen bananas 2 cups baby spinach 1/2 cup frozen peas 1 teaspoon vanilla                                1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 tablespoon nut butter (Optional, if not allergic) 1 cup milk of choice 1 Squish 100% fruit/veg puree of choiceBlend until creamy and enjoy!    

2. The Tooti-Fruity – This refreshing smoothie is all about celebrating the summer fruits! This smoothie must be served cold, better yet… Icy!

Ingredients (feeds 2 kids)Method
1 cup cold Rhodes Quality orange juice 1.5 cup frozen berries 1/2 cup full-cream milk (or coconut/almond milk) 1 NEW Squish pear, mango and yoghurt puree (It’s even better if you decant it and freeze for a few hours ) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 tablespoon honey 1 squeeze of lemonBlitz it all up until it’s creamy but still icy, top with fresh orange segments if desired, and enjoy with a spoon or straw!      

3. The Choc Pop – This decadent smoothie is a healthy take on a chocolate milkshake and yet it offers some really great nutritional benefits. It’s ideal for those weekend moments when everyone is craving a little something sweet, but you’re not wanting to hype the kids up with too much sugar. There’s something so satisfying about seeing them enjoy something delicious, knowing it’s full of goodness too.

Ingredients (feeds 2 kids)Method
2 small frozen bananas 2 tablespoons cocoa powder 1/2 a cold ripe avo 1 Squish 100% banana and prune puree (preferably refrigerated) 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup milk of choiceBlitz in your blender and serve in a plastic cup.
